And now, ladies and gentlmen, a post NOT about the remodel! Hooray! I know, I know... you've all been waiting for this day to arrive.

I've discovered a talent for making homemade jam, with the help of everyone else in my family. Yesterday we spent the hours between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. making this delicious jam to last us for the next year, and I have never been happier. This jam makes me want to be a better person. Seriously.

I only partially apologize for another post about the stairs but they are my FAVORITE part of our remodel, thus far. I love the wood! They're so pretty!!

Today we finally got our appliances put in the kitchen... we even moved our food into the new fridge! How exciting. When Sears came to drop everything off they parked their big truck right in the middle of the road. Literally. Pam found this quite comical and urged me to take a few quick photos. We also had a full household of workers today.

That stove-oven combo we got there has been fondly named the stoven.... by me.

Heloooooo kitchen!! The cabinets are mostly all in and they look gorgeous with the new floors and yellow walls. We're getting our new appliances on Monday so (hopefully) by Tuesday we can start moving things back into the kitchen! Hooray.

Also, a big congratulations to my lovely sister Stephanie on her recent graduation from high school!!!! I always knew she'd make it. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of her because I had to leave early with my grandparents but she looked outstanding. In honor of her decision to attend BYU-Hawaii in the fall, my mother got her a lei with fresh flowers to wear. Classy. And dven the weather cooperated with the event by displaying some beautiful, clear skies. Oregon loves the Craft family :)

If you're looking for two GOOD books to read, I would suggest these. They're both a pretty quick read and extremely enjoyable! A quick "thank you" to my lovely Mother for putting them in my hands and saying, "Read these." Nice. Anyway, they're very good so check them out!

Meet: my enormously-lovable best friend, Bo, whom I adore greatly and spend all day with. Some of you may be thinking, "No way that's a dog... he looks like a moose." You are correct, he doesn't look like a dog but I assure you he is. However, he DOES weigh about as much as I do and eats 10 times more!

So, this entry is devoted to him. I was thinking today about how funny it is that literally Bo eats what I eat throughout the day. As I was feeding him a rice krispy treat today (horrible, I know) I decided to make a list of all the weird things he loves to eat. So here they are:

As I type this we are sharing a can of salted peanuts. His life is so easy. And yes, I'm eating a can of salted peanuts.

New floors! The last two days have been a little horrible since our house smells really bad but the floors are so, so, so lovely... I really like the color. So here it is. We've decided to keep the walls in the living room the same color and re-paint the entry a blueish color, which is gorgeous! Also today, amidst construction and such, Kelsey and I went with Rob on a sweet 14-mile bike ride. That's right... 14 miles. NBD on a bike but I was super tired. And yes, we wore helmets. The flowers below are in our backyard and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them. Oregon brings me much joy... and so do Rob's gardening skills.

More stairs....

Tuesday, June 1, 2010

And now.... the stairs. Pam and I were gone the majority of the day but as soon as we walked into the house she said, "Ooh, more pictures for the blog." Haha I love that woman. So yes, here are a few more pictures. As I said we were gone for most of the day. We left the house around noon to meet up with a friend in Lake Oswego for lunch, which was delicious. From there we went to Fred Myers and then Target, and possibly somewhere else but I can't remember. Oh yes, Deseret Book. Pam loves that store. It rained most of the day so we spent a good deal of time hurrying from the car to the store and trying to find a close parking spot, a task which we soon realized was useless and embraced the Oregonian inside of us :) Three cheers for walking in the rain without an umbrella!
